28th November
Online – Saturdays (10am – 12pm)  in Advent  “Faith Search” (UK time)
Carmelite Spirituality lays emphasis on each person possessing an experience of God. Unique to the journey of faith is the individual’s encounter with the mystery of God. Participating in our Saturday series during Advent we invite you to explore by reflecting on some of the wisdom and insight given to this well worn spiritual tradition. We hope our time together will be engaging and encouraging for people to contribute as the themes you will be exploring, touch on common issues and concerns any human person, on a journey faith, meets.
It has been said that our society is in the grip of narcissistic tendencies; where “pragmatism” and an “unbridled restlessness” is compounding the attitude “what’s in it for me?”. The end result will be a society that descends into a lack of care and concern for others.
Though within this group you will be involved in an activity calling upon your “individual” experience – nevertheless, joining such a group will contribute to building a community of faith as we begin to discover the movement of the Holy Spirit in the sharing. After proclaiming the famous text of scripture from the Prophet Isaiah 8.23 – 9.1, Jesus then sat down and stated it was being fulfilled in the “hearing” of all who were present.(c.f. Luke 4.22) Well, this is our group. It will be in the listening to one another that you will hear the Spirit and grow your faith.
No one in the group is an “expert” when it comes to the movement of the Holy Spirit. This group is about what the presentations, the reflections, the sharing can get out of you – than what you can get out of them! Silence and time alone in preparation of each group is recommended. The material will be sent in advance of each group meeting. This will form the basis of our conversational time together.
Over our Saturday time together we will be looking at :
Live-stream 10am-12noon UK time
You will receive a small catalyst for provoking reflection on each topic in advance and sent to you by email

It seems that what gave the early Christians courage to persevere was not a secure future, but the certainty of a companionship more powerful than anything the future could bring.” Fr Iain Matthew

For there is no state of prayer, however sublime, in which it is not necessary often to go back to the beginning” (Teresa of Avila)
